Indisposable Concept Gallery Exhibition

I was approached by the guys at Indisposable Concept to assist with the art direction and curation of their inaugural gallery exhibition at Bleeding Heart Gallery, Brisbane, Australia.

I was approached by the guys at Indisposable Concept to assist with the art direction and curation of their inaugural gallery exhibition.

The exhibition showcased 50 A2 prints of 110 rolls; 2,640 photos taken using disposable cameras from all over the world. I wanted to utilize the developed photos by selecting photos to create a colour merge effect. I also designed and built a Light box sign to bring the photos to life, utilizing secondhand materials to do so.

As a keepsake component to the exhibition I decided to come up with something that sums up the concept in its entirety; the postcard calendar. When folded the pack houses 12 postcards. Then re configured the pack folds into a stand to display the cards alongside the appropriate month.

I also handcrafted a lightbox sign out of mostly (apart from the fluro globe) recycled materials. The sign has a timber frame that houses a fluro light, with a panel of white opal acrylic mounted on the front. On the top of the acrylic there is a layer of foam that I hand cut the lettering out of before glueing down.
